If your bub is 16 months to 3 years (inclusive), we have an amazing activity for you, that also happens to be Sydney’s best kept secret for toddlers.
Shalom Baby, together with Playgroup NSW, are coordinating a weekly activity program at the Rose Bay Cottage each Tuesday between 9.30am and 11.30am.
Imagine having art and crafts, water play, balls, climbing equipment, bikes, stories, songs, music, imaginative play and a tonne of toys, all at your disposal. Plus the kids get morning tea too!
Even better, we will have a child care worker facilitating the activities and directing your child’s play, while you’re supervising them.
As this program is in coordination with Playgroup NSW, you will need to join up to *Playgroup NSW, which means that you will have access to amazing programs, facilities and deals that they offer.

Is this Playgroup open to the public or just Shalom Tots?
Shalom Tots has been fortunate enough to secure a Playgroup session at Rose Bay Cottage just for Shalom Tots. While this session is solely for Shalom Tots, we do have access to all the Playgroup NSW toys, equipment and facilities
What if I can’t afford the cost of the term?
We believe all Jewish families should have equitable access to all Shalom Tot sand Shalom Baby activities. If the cost is prohibitive to you, please contact Rachel or Elyse directly. Your request will be held in the strictest of confidence.
What if my child does not fall into the correct age group?
Shalom Tots is for bubs aged 16months – 3 years (inclusive). This allows us to develop an age appropriate and inclusive programs for your child.
If your child is younger than 16months, Shalom Baby activities would be most suitable for your child. Check out the Shalom Baby website for further information.
In the coming months we will also be developing activities for older children, so stay tuned.
Will Shalom Tots still happen if it’s raining?
Fortunately, Rose Bay Cottage has both indoor and outdoor facilities, so term activities will continue regardless of the weather.
What type of activities can I expect each week?
Because Shalom Tots is using the facilities and equipment provided by Playgroup NSW, we have full access to all the wonderful toys and equipment stored at Playgroup NSW’s Rose Bay Cottage. We have at our disposal: water play, bikes, play equipment, lego, blocks, books, cars and trains, craft equipment, imaginative play equipment, musical instruments, and loads more. We will also incorporate Jewish festivals, songs and stories into weekly activities.
What other facilities are there at the Rose Bay cottage?
Just off O’Sullivan Road, the venue is easily accessible; there is free parking, a baby change area, toilets and microwave.
What is the role of the child care worker?
The experienced child care worker’s role is to design a developmentally appropriate and creative play program to provide a range of learning activities for your child. Each weeks program will vary and will incorporate Jewish festivals, songs and stories. Parent participation together with the expertise of an experienced facilitator will ensure your child receives an optimal learning experience.
Can I leave my child at Shalom Tots without supervision?
Children at Shalom Tots must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Children cannot be left unattended at any time.
Are there any additional costs?
Your fees include all costs associated with the general activities provided each week.
What about food and drinks?
Shalom tots will provide fruit, sultanas and crackers for morning tea. Tea, coffee & hot chocolate will be available for parents.
Can I bring my baby along when I bring my toddler?
0-12months free, 12-16months $5 extra charge
Are Shalom Tots and Play Group NSW insured?
Both Shalom Tots, and Playgroup NSW are fully covered by the required insurances. It is a requirement that all attendees of Shalom Tots at this activity become members of Playgroup NSW in order to be covered by their insurance.
