The Next Kesher shabbaton is on NOV 6 location is to be confirmed.

Kesher, meaning "connection", is a new and independent progressive Friday night minyan for young adults in Sydney. We are an inclusive, joyful and prayerful community of young adults seeking to explore Judaism on our own terms. Our vibrant and uplifting shabbatons are held every 2 weeks, normally in someone's apartment.

The typical Kesher shabbat has 3 parts. We start with a spirited and participatory guitar-led Kabbalat shabbat service where people are encouraged to bring musical instruments. We then enjoy a vegetarian Shabbat feast, and after dinner either have a jam session/singalong, discussion, or play board games.

We are a growing community and welcome all with open hearts; whether you're just passing through, have moved from interstate or abroad, or if you've been here all your life and want to try something new.

Turn up and give it a go. Try it on, take it for a spin, wriggle around a bit in it. If you don't like it, we have a generous returns policy. However, we think Kesher will be the perfect end to your week.

Each participant is asked to bring a vegetarian dish to share. We are LGBT and everything else-friendly and very informal.
